A voice from the past...and pictures too!

Jayme Campbell was a member of staff our first year but prior to that he was a camper (of course). Does anyone remember his big smile and energy around the kitchen? Jayme, now married and an engineer, has forwarded some photos for your viewing pleasure.
Can you identify anyone?

I don't even remember when I met Jayme. It just seems like he was always around the division.

I hope he doesn't mind me sharing this story about him. I do it with great admiration for Jayme. He's a great guy!

I worked some weekend camps with Jayme (as well as other times over the years). I believe it was the few weekend camps that took place during the Lewis' last weeks as DYS, and just before the Waters' took over the appointment.

It was the end of the first day of the first weekend camp. There wasn't a nurse available for the weekend camps. Captain Lewis asked during the staff supper if anyone had their First Aid certificate. Jayme responded with "First Day Certificate?"

Captain Lewis then teased him that no, you don't get a certificate for completing your first day of work. Jayme, as always, took the good natured ribbing in stride.

I haven't seen Jayme in years, I hope he and his family are doing well.

With Fred being so particular about the grass when he was there I'm guessing I'm not the only one who noticed the changing condition of the grass in these pictures!

Hey Glenn, Do you remember playing mud football next to the auditorium?

Do you know the years on these pictures? I'm sure I should be in the second. I swear I was at music camp that year.

I saw Jayme about 5-6 years ago. I was playing in the band for a funeral for a gentleman from our corps here in Windsor who was Jayme's great-uncle as it turned out.

The last photo was taken in August 1990. I can only assume the others were '88 and '89.

You know Wendy I was one of the ones who missed that mud football game. I need to ask Sherri why I wasn't there. She seems to remember all those details better than I do! But I do remember coming back and finding out about it thinking Captain Waters is going to be mad about this. Ha ha ha

Fred, I think you're right on the years. The photo with me in it would be the '88 one, it's the last year I went to Sr Music Camp; I started going to National (now "Territorial") in '89. Man, brings back memories!!

Actually I think the last picture was from SMC 1991 or 1992. Why? I'm not in the picture so it had to be my first year or second year as a chore boy and not a camper. Sherri and Carla are also in the picture, and they had not been to Selkirk previous to 1991.

The previous pictures are certainly before 1990, before our families arrival in the division.

The middle picture is summer 1987, this is for sure since Nathan and Josh Downer are there. Josh was born in 1986, and is obviously a little baby. How old and I that I know when they were born???

The last pic is definitely 1991. It was my first year at camp and Sonja Nicholson was there with me from Northern Ireland. I also expressly remember my first year was Jayme Campbell's last year...but I'm not tellin why! :-) hahaha
