Camp Selkirk Music Camp Song

I wondered how long it would take for this to come up?

Greg Riman raises the question: Are these the right words?

"Come and give a cheer for SMC,
It's the place we love to be (we love to be there)
With music in the air and joy is everywhere,
We love you SMC.
With our leaders and our bands so great,
Serving God in constant faith,
There's music in the air and joy is everywhere,
We love you SMC! RAH!"

Hi, Greg again. For all you Selkirkites that thought "Elsie the Cow" would go with Les Dix and his unfortunate passing, fear not. I took it with me to Glenhuron, where, although not nearly as good as Les' version, it has continued to bring joy and laughter to those who hear it. Thank you, Les!!! God must be splitting a gut right now if Les is doing one of his routines!

Yeah, I think those are the right words - although I think they replaced "leaders" with "singers" at one point....I still sing it with Steve Brown's band arrangement in my head!

Anyway you could get me music for it, or a score or something? If not, no prob!! Thanks

I'm sure it's around somewhere...there was a new arrangement written a few years ago, but I don't like it as much as Steve's. I don't know if Steve might still have a copy, or might know where to find it...I'll ask around and see how far I get...

I thought it was

"There's music in the air and BOYS are everywhere"

Come on, we were all thinking it!

And I've been privileged to witness Greg's revival of Elsie and it's lovely!

Krista,
Alf says, "Ha, I kill me!!"

Janine, thanks. It's good to hear from you.

Hey Donna, say hi to mom, dad, and Rob for me. I can't remember where I saw it, but there was a picture of you at camp, and I think Bev Norton was in it, and Lisa French, Lorna Barker. I'll have to find it. Maybe my dad has some old pictures.

Krista, It's been so long since our family was in Cambridge. We still miss all of you. Cambridge was our second home. We felt like we were related to everyone there. Great times. And playing in the Witness combo that your mom and dad were in, was a highlight for me.
