Always Men's camp in May with Women's Camp the next weekend...but the first camp of the summer season was cub camp. Guides of course were in with them but they camped in tents in the back fields.
Ron Pinson would have Cub Camp organized down to the last piece of firewood and with his team they ran a great camp which was fun and educational. I use to think, and still believe, that more camps could have learned from how this camp ran.
As the DYS Ron was wonderful to work with and always supportive and pleasant. Thanks Ron.
Can anyone name these folks in these pictures?

Can't name anyone, but you do have the picture backwards...
Can't tell you who the kids are but the leader closest to the front is 'Farmer' Shawn from Guelph I believe and the leader at the back without uniform is Randy Mugford
Looks like possibly Steve Crouch from Cambridge 4th from the left in the leader row, and possibly Ron Pinson 5th from left. That's all I know...if those are right. (and Shawn McQuillen, as Sharon pointed out).
Farmer Shawn it is. Does anyone know where he is? Can you point him to this blog?
hey, got some info on the big picture at the top of this blog...
The Guy 4th from the left on leader row wearing the green/grey neckerchief was Doug Beveridge, (those at camp called him 'Mang')Leader of the first Binbrook Cub Pack... and the Cub 2nd from the right in the front row, also wearing the Green Grey neckerchief of the First Binbrook, was none other than Dwayne Beveridge, AKA... ME! (F.T.R. I was the shortest cub. Now i am approximately 6'2 and that pic was taken approximately 95-96, the year they finished the new cabins)
"Farmer" Shawn McQuillan ... he ended studying at the University of Guelph for Agriculture ... go figure! Unfortunately we have lost touch, would be nice to track him down!
In the first picture I see Mike Eden standing in the back row 2nd from the right. Mike was also a counselor the summer of 1993.
Mike has been living in the UK for a number of years now, is married, are Salvation Army Officers, and have two children!
Also from that first picture ...
Front row, 2nd from the left, Jason Waters.
Middle row, 5th from the right, Evan Howie (Guelph).
Back row, 5th from the right, Jeff Pinsent (Guelph).
I will dig out some old photos and try and add to the blog. This is neat and I really do miss camp a lot. I will be back to reminisce over days gone by.
Farmer Sean! How the heck are ya? Tell us where you've been and what you've been up to? I'm glad someone directed you to this site.
Yea!
hey Sean what'sup?
Hey isn't this site just awesome. I grduated from U of G (agriculture) in '97, got married in '98 to Carmen. We moved to Kitchener, bought a house and started helping with a church plant where my path crossed with Jayme Campbell and his wife Meredith and they now have a 3 year old named Cole. I myself now have two beautiful little girls named Adrianna Raine and Marissa Grace. We moved twice and we moved into a home down the street from Nicki Clarke who is also married with 2 children. My wife Carmen is a teacher (grade 7/8) and I work for a Small but ever growing Courier company. My dream of being a farmer is still there but mostly I am excited just to collect toy tractors. Farmer Sean
Hey Sean! Great to hear from you - what a small world for you to cross paths with all of those SA folk. Drop me a note: natalie_hann@hotmail.com
Hey, Farmer! How's the arm you tried to chop off in '96?!
I don't know of you remember but I only nicked the tendon in my left arm and it took 3 stitches to close. I still have a fully funtioning arm and if anything I think that it is the stronger of the 2 and I am right handed
Hey Sean,
How you been? Nice to see that you have found this blog. Wow! You're a Daddy now too!!!
my best memory of cub/scout camp is having to make the onion and cheese sandwiches for those crazy leaders....hey Sean good to hear your doing well.....it's been a LONG time....
